Recreational Marijuana: What’s Allowed?

As of November 2016, Marijuana has been legalized in California for recreational use for adults who are 21 and over. Strict laws have been established to regulate circulation. Failure to comply with theses laws can result in criminal penalties.

  • Marijuana: You may have up to 28.5 grams of marijuana for recreational purposes in your possession if you are 21 years or older
  • Concentrated Cannabis: You may have up to 4 grams of concentrated cannabis for recreational purposes in your possession if you are 21 years or older

Transporting or Gifting Marijuana without Intent to Sell

Transporting marijuana is not a crime if you do not have the intent to sell the marijuana or as long as you transport or give away up to or less than the legal amount of 28.5 grams of marijuana or 4 grams of concentrated cannabis, and the recipient is at least 21 years of age.
